  • For the 18 girls (16-18 yrs) 16th Feb. was a day of great expectation. This is the day when they were to receive their certificate after completing a five months course in beautician. For these child domestic workers, who were confined within the four walls of the houses and burdened with the domestic chores, attending the beautician course opened up a new avenue. It was not only learning a skill, but the course also changed their personality, enhanced their self esteem. They have started to respect themselves and developed more self confidence. It was very evident at the certificate distribution programme from the smiling faces of the children and the confidence they enthused in compering the progamme and sharing their experience.
